Doctor Martinez grew up in Dominican Republic a small island in the Caribbean where her parents still reside. Dr Martinez passion for dentistry was ignited by her frequent visits to her orthodontist who was also named Kenia and ultimately influenced her decision to attend dental school.
After graduating from Dental school in Dominican Republic, Dr Martinez moved to the State of New York where she pursued a Master in Public Administration while working on two NHI funded Research projects to find the correlation between Strokes and periodontal disease and the effects of periodontal disease on children with uncontrolled diabetes mellitus.
Subsequently Dr Martinez Attended Columbia University College of Dental medicine for a Post graduate program of Advanced Education in General Dentistry, during three years she performed all aspects of general dentistry restorative and surgical procedures. Being Associated to New York Presbyterian Hospital gave her great exposure to simple and complex cases.
While in school Dr Martinez was a member of the Hispanic Dental Association, organization which offered her the rewarding opportunity to participate in different volunteering programs to provide free dental exams in underserved areas and public schools in New York City.
While practicing in New York City, Dr Martinez love for Esthetic Dentistry was evident and she attended New York University (NYU School of dentistry) for Esthetic Dentistry program, her outstanding performance granted her the opportunity to become a part time faculty volunteering in the international esthetic Program at NYU.
Dr Martinez is married with one daughter and lives in Milpitas, she enjoys outdoors activities like hiking and running but most of all giving people healthy smiles.
